Vancouver Island Wedding Venues: Top Spots in Greater Victoria Area

If you’re planning a wedding on Vancouver Island, welcome. This guide was created to help you explore some of the best Vancouver Island wedding venues, whether you're drawn to oceanside views, quiet forest hideaways, or something a little off the beaten path.

Two people mid-jump off a rocky cliff into Sproat Lake BC, surrounded by misty mountains and trees. Black and white image, serene mood.

As a wedding photographer who’s spent years working across southern BC, I’ve gotten to know a lot of incredible spaces. Some of these venues I’ve photographed many times. Others are still on my wishlist. But every single one has something special to offer, which is why they’re included here.

You’ll find each Vancouver Island wedding venue listed by region to help you navigate based on where you're planning to get married:

  • Greater Victoria

  • Cowichan Valley

  • Gulf Islands

  • Tofino & Ucluelet

  • Central & North Island

Right now, this guide features venues in the Greater Victoria area—with more regions being added soon. I’ll be updating this regularly as I continue to build it out, so feel free to check back for updates or bookmark it for later.

Each listing includes what makes the venue unique, the kind of guest count it suits best, a link to its website, and anything else I think might be helpful when narrowing things down. And if you know of a venue that isn’t mentioned here but absolutely should be, I’d love to hear about it. Just leave a comment and let me know what you love about it.

Nestled along Victoria's Inner Harbour, The Pendray Inn & Tea House offers a distinctive blend of historic charm and intimate elegance for weddings. This Victorian-era mansion, formerly known as the Gatsby Mansion, provides a picturesque setting with its meticulously landscaped gardens, tranquil ponds, and cobblestone pathways—ideal for capturing timeless wedding photographs.

Couples can exchange vows in the enchanting outdoor amphitheater, surrounded by lush greenery, or opt for an indoor ceremony within the mansion's sophisticated interiors, featuring stained-glass windows and frescoed ceilings. The Pendray Tea House serves as a refined reception venue, accommodating up to 80 guests for a seated dinner or up to 100 for a cocktail-style gathering. Catering options include the inn's signature Victorian-style Afternoon Tea or customized menus crafted in collaboration with Truffles Catering.

For those seeking on-site accommodations, the inn offers ten uniquely appointed guest rooms and suites, each exuding Victorian charm. The Pendray Suite, overlooking the harbour, provides a romantic retreat for newlyweds. Additionally, the adjacent Huntingdon Manor Hotel offers over 100 guest rooms, ensuring comfortable lodging for wedding attendees.

Best Season: Year-round

Vibe: Historic Victorian elegance with intimate and picturesque surroundings

Sea Cider is one of the most iconic Vancouver Island wedding venues for couples who want ocean views, rural charm, and cider on tap. There’s also a tucked-away forest clearing where ceremonies take place, and it’s honestly one of the dreamiest spots for a Twilight inspired ceremony. Inside, the reception hall is filled with soft light and clean lines, and the overall atmosphere is calm and unfussy. I’ve photographed a few weddings here now, and each one has felt personal, grounded, and full of intention.

Location: Saanichton, BC

Guest Count: Small to medium capacity

Accommodation: No on-site accommodation

Catering: No in-house catering, but outside vendors are welcome

Best Season: All seasons, though events are limited to after hours while the cidery is open to the public

Vibe: Rural and relaxed with west coast views, forest ceremonies, and really good cider

Kildara is one of those venues that gives you space to breathe. It’s set on a hill in North Saanich and surrounded by apple trees, gardens, and forested paths that make the whole property feel a little tucked away from everything else. There are multiple ceremony options depending on the season and the kind of feel you're after—from the English garden and mature orchard to the forest and even a covered pergola attached to the barn. The recently restored Great Barn is where most receptions are held, with whitewashed beams, big windows, and a clean rustic charm that doesn’t try too hard. There’s also a bridal loft upstairs that’s been styled with vintage touches and soft light, which makes getting ready feel like part of the experience rather than just a stop before the day begins.

On top of that, the venue owner Sarah is also a wedding planner and florist, which takes a lot of the guesswork out of planning if you're looking for extra support. There’s a small beach just down the road for portraits if you want ocean views, and the staff handle setup and teardown so your people can actually enjoy the day. I’ve photographed here before and can genuinely say the team is warm, responsive, and on top of it.

Deep Cove Winery is tucked away in North Saanich, surrounded by rolling vineyards and forested hills. It’s a quiet, intimate space that feels like a bit of a retreat from the city. The main event space, The Amphora Room, has vaulted ceilings and a flexible layout that works well for both ceremonies and receptions. There’s also a covered outdoor area known as the Winery Crush Pad, which offers a seasonal option for open-air celebrations with the vineyard as your backdrop. The whole property has a relaxed, west coast feel to it, and the team is known for being warm and accommodating. If you’re looking for a venue that combines natural beauty with a bit of rustic charm, this could be a great fit.

Receptions can be held under the stars in the orchard, on the patio, or within the barn, providing flexibility to suit various wedding visions. The farm offers reclaimed wood tables that set the stage for memorable long-table dinners amidst natural beauty. For those seeking a weekend-long celebration, Bilston Creek Farm provides exclusive access from Friday at 4 pm to Sunday at 11 am, including accommodation in 10 canvas bell tents equipped with comfortable bedding, accommodating up to 20 guests.

The Fairmont Empress is one of Victoria’s most iconic landmarks—a hotel that feels straight out of a period film. Inside, the Crystal Ballroom is flooded with natural light and framed by grand windows, gold accents, and historic details that make everything feel elevated. Hatley Castle stands out among Vancouver Island wedding venues for its historic architecture and visually striking gardens. Located just outside of Victoria, the estate offers expansive gardens, ocean views, and one of the few true castle settings in the region. The exterior alone sets a tone of quiet grandeur, while the interior feels steeped in history, with rich woodwork, tall windows, and architectural symmetry that lends itself beautifully to photos.

Ceremonies are typically held outdoors in the formal gardens, which change with the seasons and offer different backdrops depending on the time of year. Receptions can be hosted inside the castle for smaller gatherings or outside on the lawn with a tent for larger guest counts. The partnership with Truffles Catering makes planning straightforward, and there are plenty of nearby options for accommodations.

This is the kind of venue that brings a lot to the table visually without needing much added to it. If you're looking for something elegant, grounded, and cinematic in a historic setting, Hatley is a strong contender.
