Vancouver Island Wedding Venues: Top Spots in The Cowichan Valley
If you’re planning a wedding in the Cowichan Valley, welcome. This guide was created to help you explore some of the best venues in this stunning region of Vancouver Island—whether you're drawn to vineyard views, peaceful forests, rustic farms, or charming heritage spaces.

As a wedding photographer who’s spent years working across southern BC, I’ve gotten to know a lot of incredible spaces. Some of these venues I’ve photographed many times. Others are still on my wishlist. But every single one has something special to offer, which is why they’re included here.
You’ll find each Vancouver Island wedding venue listed by region to help you navigate based on where you're planning to get married:
Cowichan Valley
Gulf Islands
Tofino & Ucluelet
Central & North Island
Right now, this guide features venues in the Cowichan Valley—with more regions being added soon. I’ll be updating this regularly as I continue to build it out, so feel free to check back for updates or bookmark it for later.
Each listing includes what makes the venue unique, the kind of guest count it suits best, a link to its website, and anything else I think might be helpful when narrowing things down. And if you know of a venue that isn’t mentioned here but absolutely should be, I’d love to hear about it. Just leave a comment and let me know what you love about it.
Grow Wild Retreats is the kind of venue that feels like a hidden pocket of magic in the Cowichan Valley. Tucked away on 100 acres of off-grid farmland near Shawnigan Lake, it's intentionally low-impact, incredibly peaceful, and surrounded by nature in every direction. Ceremonies often take place in the forest beneath a canopy of trees, with receptions unfolding in open fields or shaded clearings. There’s a private lake, walking trails, and the cutest on-site cabin, The Burrow, which makes the perfect space for getting ready or staying overnight. If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels like a weekend escape—with quiet moments, starry skies, and a deep connection to the land—this might be your spot. Bonus? They only host five weddings a year, so it truly feels like your own.
